MRes

Summary

This practice-based research investigates the interzone between imagination and reality by creating visual illusion in two-dimensional space to construct the inner projected landscape with the sense of dislocation.

Introduction

The illusion of two-dimensional space is one of the necessary conditions for the expression of poetic metaphor, and it also brings more space for the viewer's ascribed projection. The juxtaposition of imagination and reality in the two-dimensional plane gives artists an opportunity to create a private space, and invite viewers to participate and places themselves in the projected space where time and space is dislocated. The researcher combines the findings with the his own practice to present the inner landscape after experiencing the torrent of images and virtual worlds being constructed in the current digital age. This landscape will inevitably bring new and diversified perspectives, and it will be reflected in the practice of artists, and provides an opportunity for the generation of new visual language of images.
