Summary

‘Notes on New Landscapes’ introduces the different ways that memory can be translated through the process of practice-based research. The work consists of selected paintings and drawings that reference and reflect the theme of ‘New Landscape’. ‘Notes on New Landscapes; Researching The Making Of Place Through Painting’, is a practice based thesis that highlights that way that painting acts as the central component within a range of broad reflections. The experimental accumulation of visual reference growing out of the process of painting aids a translation of the notion of ‘New Landscape’. By using the Saudi landscape as the main reference, this practice-based research provides different visual templates to the the project that in turn attempts to question time, memory, and place within my practice.
