Moving Diagram: The Relationship Between the Space and Hand in Digital Moving Image Experiment
Summary
The moving diagram is the ongoing project with diagram methodology by Deleuze. I believe moving image practice is a study of sensibility of movement in terms of the communicative and reflective relationship between the body and tool. Deleuze points out how various diagrams can be used in a creative practice from the given perceptional and pictorial world.
Due to the digitalisation, which generates the great potential for the new space and time on screens, the artist's body is erased in final work. Consequently, the unique relationship between artists' bodies and their new positions in the contemporary digital moving image is not well identified. Therefore, in the reflective and reflexive experiments and examination of Eisenstein's montage technique, this practice-based project questions operative artist's body and tools in digital post-production and how the diagram can bring out new visible constellation/assemblage of sociocultural and personal cartography in moving image. Further, it aims to create a new map of the journey in the hope that these potential relationships will not be limited on the screen space but will expand to the physical space that has yet to be formed.
